About 2 years ago, my friend Mike bought a Hawk camper. I followed last fall with the Hawk as well. It is on my old 1994 two wheel drive Silverado. I will add a profile picture sometime but you ain't missing much. I am always amazed at the ideas that people have here and even more amazed at the workmanship. Great stuff on this forum!

I mentioned adding a drawer in the open area under the couch by the door and a few days later, Mike showed up with a new drawer added to his camper. He is a great guy and a few days later had made one for my camper. He also extended the length of the left drawer closest to the fridge a few inches and made one for me. We mounted a magnet at the back of the drawer and the metal plate is on the wall behind the drawer. Yes, the nuts for the couch got in the way of the drawer. I have had the drawer slip open once while traveling but it was not a big deal. The length of the drawer in the counter is limited in my case by the AC outlet for the refrigerator (it is behind the drawer). But the longer drawer allowed me to put some longer cooking utensils in it. These are photos of the new counter drawer next to the old counter drawer and the new drawer by the door.

Great job. Put a toilet seat on top of the drawer so you don't sacrifice using up that porta potti space :)
