New Hawk+ Flatbed Camper

I was unaware it was already here. should've searched 1st I suppose, my apologies for time wasting, mods feel free to delete at your discretion.

It really is a thing of beauty, and relatively budget friendly when compared to a similar van build which, as a cheapskate, is probably my favorite part.

Re budget friendly I guess that's a matter of perspective & how many options you pick. If you tick every option on the Hawk+ options list it comes out to $89k. Then once you add state tax & tariff surcharge a fully optioned Hawk+ is pretty much $100k on the nose for just the actual camper, not including the camper tray or truck it sits on. If one was to get a new truck, tray, suspension & offroad accoutrements to carry it, it's pretty easy to spend over $250k.

Im not sure where you're shopping. mainline overland says I can have 1 for $59k another 50 for a decent 3/4 ton 4X4 + misc fees and the build maybe $175k total, but lets be real nobody who doesn't already have the truck is camper shopping so that number can realistically be cut almost in half.

That fully loaded Hawk+ camper price is direct from the FWC site using their 'Build & Price' tool. Their options are spendy. If you pick lots of options the price climbs dramatically.

mainline overland is showing me $44 and if the model in the pics is indeed the $44 version its built out more than id use in that configuration. different strokes for different folks, if im spending that kinda money on luxury stuff im not gonna be driving a regular ol pickup.
dynamax comes to mind

As offgrid did, I priced one out building it on four wheel campers "Build and Price" tool, came out to 67K without the flatbed tray. I'd think you're getting a bare bones model at 44k. The one pictured in the article linked above has a lot of options and I'd bet is beyond the $67k I priced out.

Plus, there currently is a 4% surcharge.
