Well it finally came time, since we are doubling the size or our family unit (not including the dogs) a new to us truck came to be. The wife is about to hit 20 weeks pregnant with twins and the new vehicle debate became real. We were advised by the friendly neighborhood twin families to just buy the big one and get it over with. There was no question about getting rid of the FWC, I need the commuter car, and didn't feel like having a third car sitting around again getting dirty. So a crew cab it would be, needed the full short box to fit the camper, needed FWD, needed leather for easy clean up, might as well go diesel to match the car and for longevity (there may be a tow behind in the future).
And the winner after much craigs list hunting and dealer visits.......................A 2006 Chevy 2500 Duramax.
After the line-x application and new forged eye bolts I finally got her saddled up and ready for the road.
Here's a side by side of old and new.
P.S. anyone looking for a used pick-up
