Hello out there! I've decided its time to consider selling my Northstar TC700 and look into a lighter, newer and nicer camper. I recently picked up my second 1st gen Tundra AC and would like to upgrade campers.

I'm looking for either a FWC- Fleet or, preferably, an ATC Ocelot. My budget is around 10k and I'd like to find one with a propane furnace, stove, fridge, water system. Is my quest reasonable to find an Ocelot for around this price?

Problem is, I'm in Colorado and the ATCs are definitely rare around where I live in Montrose, CO.

Anyone out there with an Ocelot on a first gen Tundra who can chime in on how they like it- and possibly if you want to sell...?

Keep watching the gear exchange, and if you haven’t used searchtempest.com, you might give it a try. An ATC Bobcat might be another option.

yep. We had an ATC Ocelot on our 2005 Tundra for eight years. I built out the shell and had no issues with the setup. Installed airbags and a Hellwig sway bar. over 100,000 miles driven with that particular setup. Sold it for $11K a few years ago.

After doing some more research, it looks like a Bobcat would be better for me. Sounds like for me at 5'10, I'd be able to sleep "east/west" ways on the bed. I'd also like the lighter weight of the Bobcat.

I'd really like to find a mid-2000s Bobcat. My budget is around 10k or so. Seems like that's reasonable for a gently used Bobcat... Tough part is finding a used one...

Do you remember roughly how much your Ocelot weighed? My current camper weighs in around 1,200 lbs. My Tundra does fine w/it- Firestone Ride Rights w/Daystar cradles and a Hellwig sway bar... But, I'd like to get below 1k lbs wet.

Not really - too long ago. But it was fairly light since I did the build out and kept things light. No issues with truck handling the load. Still have the 05 and plan on keeping it running for another 150K!

Keep in touch with Marty, he usually knows about people who are upgrading to newer campers.

Yep, IMO, the 1st gen Tundra is the best truck ever. I had a 2000 for 14 years and recently sold it w/288k on the clock- still as tight as was new. Reason for selling...I found an 06 AC nearby w/105k on the clock babied by an old man who used it to go fishing. New-to-me truck=new-to-me camper!-- just gotta find "The One"...
