I've been down to Baja many times (30-40?) but this time our friends are joining us in their new camper too. They are staying a month, us? 2-3 months. No real schedule or places to stay/camp but it always works out. 2 days of driving from Idaho to the border.

I'll try to take notes and post a trip report when we get back as I doubt I'll have much connectivity.

As I look out on my pretty winter view at 15 degrees and windy... I think of those days camped on a Baja beach! My wife, my dog and went for the long haul to TX Big Bend and then Baja down to the tip and back in 2022. It was our first time and we had a lot of first time experiences that are needed to learn. We are both experienced travelers both of us living abroad for a number of years.
I am very interested in your travels there and would very much enjoy reading about the trip. If you can, post either here or elsewhere. Safe journey and vaya con dios!

I truly admire those of you who still muster the huevos to drive down to Baja. I made my first trip down to the tip the day after I received my drivers license at 16 and went every year at least once until I was in my forties. After many close calls through the years, and a couple stays in jail, I feel I may have used up all my luck, and I'm fortunate to have had it back in the day.

Now every winter we fly to one of the many beaches on the mainland and get our fix that way. That said, every time we do, we grumble about the inevitable delays and uncertainties of the airlines. Also we don't like being tied to reservations. We just got back yesterday and my wife and I once again discussed how much we love the freedom and ease our FWC offers. We are already excitedly mulling over where we want to camp in April. Can't wait!

F=Freedom
W=With
C=Comfort

Enjoy and have a great time y Feliz Año!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great adventure, be safe and be sure to update along the way with trip reports.

I pretty much agree with everything you say here Captain. I traveled and worked in the Middle East, north and east Africa during my 30's. Definitely used up my share of luck and then some. Been to Oaxaca and Canada a couple of time since, which is great, but that has been it.

let us know where u are, and what u are up to while in baja. we go down in late feb for a month of poking around.
