We just wrapped up the promo video for the 2014 Overland Expo. Since a Four Wheel Camper figures heavily in it, I thought I'd share the link, HERE.

Love the footage from what I would guess is shot from a quadrotor type aerial camera platform.

Yes, where was that terrible place which I have no wanderlust to venture to?

That was stock footage we purchased, so we wouldn't actually have to visit such a place!

And yes - the aerial footage was courtesy a Phantom quadcopter and GoPro.

Must have CGI'd the FWC there.

Not 100% sure but it totally looked like Marble Canyon, AZ to me.

And, I think he is joking when he said it was stock footage.

You're right, it was Marble Canyon. All the grandeur, none of the crowds of the South Rim.

And yes, the crowded camp, dog, and screaming baby were all stock footage.

Is the drive there similar to Toroweap on the north rim?

 

[JHanson]

Sort of. It's much easier to access - you can be on the rim only five or six miles from 89A - but of course Marble Canyon isn't the "full" Grand Canyon. Breathtaking nevertheless. And Toroweap can seem a bit crowded these days - relatively speaking of course. We had that Marble Canyon camp all to ourselves for three days.

Sounds great. Last year I found the drive to Toroweap fairly easy other than the distance. Not until the last stretch did it become more fun/rocky.
