mikill vindur og breytilegt veður. hlýrra en ég vil.

lots of wind and variable weather. warmer than I want.

Even in Iceland the pattern is warmer then normal. Pick a continent most are warmer and more rain/snow. Carson city has been steady above average and dry.

Our forecast, like yours, started out as a week long atmospheric river. Daily rain was forecasted and hourly it was pushed back another day. Little has fallen. We got a bit of snowfall last night but nothing stuck. It was the first moisture of this so called atmospheric river. All we got was the atmospheric ... high winds and dense playa dust blowing in from between Fallon and Lovelock.

Last weekend I was in Alturas visiting friends. I usually go north and west, hitting US395 at Lakeview, then down to Alturas; but went through Reno both ways because of forecasts. Much of the state highway west of Denio is above 6,000', which would mean snow; I wasn't about to attempt Dougherty Slide, just inside Oregon, with ice. That road drops 1,000' in about three miles, with no shoulders and no guardrails and near vertical slopes on both sides of the road. Then to cross over the Warners. Anyway, I didn't hit rain until about 30 miles south of Alturas, then it turned to snow. It snowed but didn't stick, then turned to rain. It rained all night, all Saturday, all night. Sunday it was raining. We hit rain all the way to Doyle, then sprinkles to Bordertown. It was sunny in Reno.

Since then, Monday brought heavy flooding to Alturas, then it turned to snow. It has been snowing steadily all week, all is white, and as of this morning still snowing.
