My three laying hens out behind the back yard fence. In the past month they've laid around 50 eggs, so there's no shortage of good breakfasts around here!

Looks can be deceiving. It was 44° when I snapped this walking down the driveway to shut the gate.

The mountains are sure pretty Sagebrush! We received 4" of snow and your 44 beat our high temperature for today. Overnight there was another inch of snow on the deck for Julie to shovel this morning so she's happy. Snow bombs off the big pines plastered the driveway this morning. Shoveling that is the hardest chore of snow removal.

I fondly remember those snow bombs from our winter times at our cabin.
And on our ski tours through the Ebbets Pass area.
They made being out quite an adventure.

Craggy, the mountains are somewhat above average at present, but I’m holding judgment until the end of April. An early hot spell could send it all down stream.

NOAA says it's clear and sunny this morning. It was snowing when I got up at 0530 and just wrapped up. View from my back door, looking southeast.

Quail are tame enough at Rancheria Ardilla to come running when they see me out on the porch of my cabin shed, begging for some chicken scratch.
