Prepare your truck for a camper

Hello all,

Want to ensure our truck is ready to receive the camper. I am thinking about upgrading tires and installing an air bag system. What tires rating at a minimum would be best? Also, it is my understanding that air bags may increase payload.

Any other suggestions?

Nobody selling air bags will assure you that the payload will be increased. (Nor will I.)

But, they will certainly restore the ride height. And keep you from bottoming out on normal roads.

I got mine from JC Whitney, a few weeks ago, install was a peice of cake. I mounted the schrader valves beside the license plate, so I could see them in the dark. Then saw somebody here put them IN the license plate holding screw holes, MUCH better idea.

I'm starting the tire search in the near future, when you make up your mind, I'd appreciate your knowledge.
