Propane regulators

So I just purchased an eccotemp hot water shower. Getting ready to do the plumbing and I'm running into issues.

1. It came with a hose to connect directly to a 20lb propane tank.

2. I have a regulator on my 20lb propane tank already.

I am looking to plumb into my existing propane lines, I have a 4 way that only uses 1 tee off right now, the others are capped.

Do I need to use the the regulator supplied?

Can I just use a standard line without a regulator since I have a regulator already?

I removed the side on the regulator that connects to the tank. Any thoughts on turning it into a female to connect to my 4 way?

Thanks and Happy Holidays!!

I would ask the mfg of the heater what the supply pressure should be.
Pictures would be helpful, but I ran into something similar when I decided to install an unregulated propane port in the rear of the camper for the BBQ & big camp stove.

The camper's regulator was attached to the tank valve fitting, which meant that everything downstream would be at it's reduced pressure. Since both the Camp Chef stove and the Magma BBQ have their own regulators (& no idea if they are the same pressure as each other or the camper's regulated pressure) I moved the camper regulator downstream in the system and installed a 'T' in the copper tube upstream of the regulator with the branch running to the rear port. This means that the hose needed an upgrade because it did not note what it's service pressure limit was and it would now be at tank pressure (~300 psi max). Use propane specific hose and fittings. You can get a fitting known as a "Hanson Fitting" and bulk hose so that you can make your own length hose and don't have to know exactly what the length needs to be beforehand. Also, be careful as some regulators are orientation sensitive. My camper's regulator is one of these.
