So I’m in the middle of trying to install a manager30 into my 22 hawk and have a bit of a question. My truck has the smart alternator so I was going to use the ignition wire connection called out in directions, but I am unsure as to what size wire I should run all the way back into the hawk for that specifically? I’ve run 6 awg for the 12v + and ground, but 6 awg seems like it might be overkill just for getting the ignition wire/key on input. Any thoughts? I’d love to wrap this up today. Thanks!

The installation manual should tell you, but I looked and didn’t see any recommendation. I’m quite sure it’s just a signal wire carrying well under one amp. Even if it was an old school solenoid like in a battery or load isolator it would be about an amp. 16 awg should be adequate. I wouldn’t go smaller just for mechanical strength reasons.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be in there as well but I missed it also. Was going to run 12 awg. Thanks Jon, much appreciated.
