Redwood Coast to southern Napa & I-5 home

Yes, I've done Malheur once (I think it was April) and we did see amazing birdlife. We also saw a lot of rain storms, cold wet conditions, and MOSQUITOES galore. We drove through Page Springs campground which was beautiful, full of tents and campers (no spot for us), and not a single person to be seen at 5 in the afternoon. We quickly realized the outdoors was uninhabitable by humans because of the density and ferocity of the mosquitoes! Everyone was indoors. Beautiful place, but no thanks!

Our plan (now that we have a FWC) is to return to Malheur NWR again, slightly later in the spring for less rain and more warmth, and the birds.

Consider buying a Thermacell unit or two for around the camp table, they make a difference. Perhaps a rechargeable (US:cool: bug zapper for inside the camper. Turn it on for a half hour before bedtime.

Page Springs may have gone reservable, so beware.

I cannot get over the elegance of the color scheme on a white faced ibis. Spectacular!
Thank you! It was gloomy, raining, windy and darn cold, but the birds did not seem to mind. Such amazing coloring and intricate behaviors.
