replacing faucet

I need to replace my faucet. I have an electric pump and currently water in the tank. Not sure if there is always pressure in the line or only when pump is on. Do I need to drain tank before replacing pump?

No need to drain the tank. Put a couple of old towels under the faucet to catch dribble from faucet and lines. Pump off, open hot and cold to release pressure.

I did, thanks. The other was the original from 2012 flush mount and was leaking. New one is so much nicer.
