"Riding Off into the Sunset" Its time to turn the page

Everyone will have tough decisions to make as we get older. I sold my FWC and went to a Class B for more comfort. Remember the forum is call WANDER the west. Keep wandering, it doesn't matter how you spent the night. Stay around and tell us what you see on your travels.

Sorry to see you've sold your rig Jim. I hope you can replace it with something comfortable that will get you to Saline Valley.

I can definitely relate Jim. I just lost a good friend the other day. He was 84 but someone I thought would go forever. It really makes one think and evaluate priorities. I'll be 75 in August but I'm not ready to give up camping yet. I don't know if I'll ever make it to Baja again (after 25 trips), but if I can't, I'll probably sell my Grandby. My wife already has a Class B, but now it appears we are inheriting a 5 year old grand niece and the Class B might not be big enough. We may be doubling up in campsites for a while.

Thanks everyone for your kind feedback. turning the page late 70's is not where I thought I would be at this young age. So here is another field Report.

Field Report

Life at Age 77.5 New ground for me. We are downsizing to one car a mid size Crossover. Been researching for 3 weeks and have just about settled on a Suburu Outback as it will fit the planes and carry the eBike I can sleep in it; and a 2-seater "something"...Not really a sports car.(Probably looks like a golf cart...probably is.) Current top speed 13mph (speed limit in the park 15mph). Not street legal as we don't have our own police department in our city in North San Diego county.

Now the e-bike won't feel so lonely. A 2010 Fairplay XP 5.5. 5.5 electric hp, 6- 8 volt batteries. Last about 4-6 years. $1000 bucks to replace. In our park we have a long grade (3 long blocks) which we call "cardiac Hill" Easily hits top speed at the top. Paid $1,000 for it. Tires are good. Batteries are good (maybe 2 years left). Headlights, turn signals, stop light ...No Heater or A/C. Going to look for an army blanket for winter.

More pictures in My Gallery under "Tow Behinds" because it does have a tow mode. Though it should be towed on a trailer for safety sake. Would work well at a Rally.

Maybe I should start a new post out of Four wheel camper Discussions and we will see where this subject goes. Oh and I'm not really that fat. I wear aback brace that pushes up the loose skin from the weight I have dropped during the pandemic. That's all for now.

I have to repaint the hood as it has "orange peel"..Am thinking about adding "flames". Once a "car (cart) guy...always a ..."
