roof lifting helper shocks thingys

It's a light, Id rather not move it and have to patch 3+ holes. Narrower campers like often don't have them. Narrower campers from FWC also use longer struts, not sure if ATC changed their ceiling height too or not.

Thanks

If you use (highly recommended) the aluminum plate, through which the thru-bolts are drilled, butyl tape beneath the aluminum will completely seal the screw holes. I would still suggest, despite the reluctance to remove light, to go that route. It provides best solid roof struts. The wires can be snipped and taped over.

What real use do the lights serve? IMO having the roof lifters would be a better thing to have.
Are those lights even legal to have? Just saying.
Sealing up the holes is a minor job.

After reading this entire thread, I notice that FWC seems to have gravitated towards using large ball studs to mount the struts, rather than the three-screw off set brackets. And then I see where they found it necessary to put out a reinforcing piece for the large ball studs (file:///Users/markchamberlin/Downloads/External%20Lift%20Assist%20Repair.pdf). Has anyone been doing the retrofit lately using the ball studs and/or reinforcing plates?
