I had put some split vinyl tubing over the sharp metal edges at the front of the camper in the bed area, but had not done anything at the door end. After scraping my head badly while quickly jumping into the camper when the roof was down, i decided to get serious and buy some real rubber edge guard for both areas. The linked product I ordered from Amazon worked perfectly. It was easy to cut and install, and fits tightly. The ten foot length was exactly the right amount. I had maybe 2 inches extra. The pictures show what it looks like. It has metal clips fully imbedded in the rubber, so you pretty much can only cut it perpendicular.

The other thing I did in the same area to protect my head was to put a rubber cover on the knob of the slide bolt lock that latches the rear panel up when the roof is down. If that knob is left pointing down it can cut your head. I found it at my hardware store in the specialty fastener drawers.
