I noticed a rubber roundish seal that sits on rim under newer FWC’s roof when it closed. Looks like some type of rain seal. Question what size and dimensions and type of seal is it. Anyone know how it is attached/mounted? Wanting to install on mine that never had one. 98 Grandby. Last week during a strong rain and wind event noticed rain blew in with top down through window area on passengers side ran down into camper. Did not see water along seam at base on the inside, only dripping from window area around Velcro sides while down. Any one have pictures of it in place? Thanks for any input on this.

Its a P shaped bulb seal that the leg of the P tucks in behind the perimeter trim. Someone linked this 1/4" one below in the past but I'd check your personal camper to see how much gap you think you need to fill before picking a size.

My 2000s camper I used to have had it around the front half to help with rain while driving. Not sure if any models have it all the way around the camper now?

Great info! Looks like I would need to remove trim and slide between trim and side wall material. That’s going to need some planning for sure. Not an easy add like I was hoping but very doable. I will look into same type of seal material that could maybe adhere to top of trim piece without removing? Anyone ever do anything like that? Thanks for any ideas.

Thank you for the offer for additional pictures! I’m just trying to figure how I’m going to attach the P-gasket under the trim. Not sure how the side material canvas is attached what going to come lose when trim is removed etc. Anyone have pictures of what’s under the trim piece and what happens if removed would be a great start. Thanks

Trim is over the vinyl which is over the siding. The sideliners are overlong when they're installed and then trimmed at the bottom edge of the trim when the trim is installed over it.

I'd raise the roof part way (with blocking) versus all the way up so its not pulling the side liner taught and work in sections removing enough screws in the trim that you can slip it in without completely removing the trim.

@Robojeeper53 I think I need to replace this rubber seal.. mine is all squished and I think it's leading to water intrusion when the camper is closed down/driving in rain. What are you planning to use to adhere the P shaped seal?

There was a post in the past where a small tube was inserted to give it shape again.

My Grandby camper never had a P-rubber seal. I still looking at options of removing bottom trim and installing it like newer factory ones or I located some 1/2” and 3/4” self adhesive round rubber with flat bottom I could stick to top of trim. My preference is install like factory although my ability to do that is questionable so come spring and good weather I’ll decide. Again anyone with pictures replacing or installing seal please send. Thanks for any info.

If you decide to try an adhesive seal to avoid unscrewed the trim piece, consider installing your seal on the inside of the upper trim. It might adhere better due to not having to go over the trim piece screws.

Put some thought into your adhesion method. Always be thinking of the poor sap that has to remove what you install - it could be you.
