Saftey Reminder - Propane leak!

Just a saftey reminder to check all your propane fittings before you hit the road this summer. I found a leak last night at the 90 degree fitting between the tank fitting and the regulator. I had opened the propane box up to turn the propane on, in order to check the furnace before the weekend trip and smelled a little propane --- checked it with my handy dandy soapy water and found a tiny leak...

It appeared to me that the previous owner changed the regulator out and didn't use teflon tape or used the cheap kind or didn't do it right. And it is the fitting that take the abuse from tank and regulator.

So be safe and check your stuff out before you blow your a$$ up!!

That is what I used to fix it, AND the yellow lp/cng teflon tape.

I used the same technique on my home furnace piping proeject (50+ feet ot pipe, a dozen+ fitting, cutting and threading, etc...) and had zero leaks or problems.
