Hello,

So I recently purchased a 250 watt Renogy solar panel for my 2024 Swift camper and I was curious if anyone had suggestion on how to install it on the roof of my camper? For clarity I live in Portland Oregon and have been a carpenter in the NW for 30yrs! I have formulated a plan, but I was curious if anyone here might have some ideas or concepts I haven't thought of! I appreciate any and all ideas or recommendations!

Thank you.

I fashioned brackets from an aluminum extrusion and attached those with double-sided VHB tape right to the roof. A few years latter I added a second panel and have had no issues with brackets coming loose so far. See:

You can do 4 brackets to the camper roof frames as one option. Another is to put on some tracks (aluminum unistrut, T track, yakima tracks, etc.) along some frame members and then mount the solar panels to those. One perk with the latter is its adjustable if you have a panel fail or such and replace it with one that isn't the same exact dimensions.

Do you have the factory Thule tracks on your roof?

I thought the tracks that are installed are Yakima brand. That is what is on mine.

If your ok with Yakima product.
I’m pretty sure the tracks regardless of which manufacturer will accommodate both Thule and Yakima bases. More of an issue for me is how well the tracks are installed.
