For a 2024 Hawk, does the solar prep mean that all I need to do is connect a panel? Specifically I plan to add a panel to the roof and plug it in up there.
I looked around for unconnected wires as stated in the owner manual but didn't see them.
Does anyone know?

On my 2021 Grandby front dinette, there were surface mounted SAE two-pin connectors on the roof and on the back wall. They were connected in parallel somewhere in the cabinet that I couldn’t see. There was a 10 awg red and black wire pair from the panels coiled up in the top corner of the battery compartment.

I bought my camper without a solar charger, but they were available as an option when ordering the camper. If you have no such charger, you need to select appropriately matched panel(s) and a solar charge controller. A Victron Smart Solar MPPT 100/30 is a good example of such a product.

Typical installations among DIY folks here are the above Victron unit and a single approximately 300 watt panel.

Here is a clip of how my Hawk, side dinette was "wired for solar" I needed to buy a panel for the roof, a portable panel for the rear and a charge controller. The video explains the wiring and shows its location for my model. Plugs were already installed on the roof and rear wall. I also added a dongle and a shunt from Victron to monitor charging status and battery SOC. FWC also provided two 90*, flush mount plug ends.

My camper already has a redarc DCDC charger, that says it contains a solar input. Couldn't find any loose wires anywhere for the solar, maybe they are hooking them up now?

If you have a newer model (mid-2024 or newer) with a DCDC charger installed at the factory then all the solar hookups are wired in and ready to use.

My camper is new and got installed this year. I guess I could verify that the solar input to this DCDC charger is connected to something.

Would be nice if fwc provided an accurate wiring diagram for the camper.

Yes, and given the issues with polarity of their solar wiring in past years, you need to be careful not to connected your panels in reverse polarity. Do they have the external connectors marked? If not, I would verify the connections with a meter and a test lead extension.

The roof has the standard solar panel connectors on it with caps, so it should be okay. I will verify it though thanks for the advice.
