Ran the demo test this morning. The demo connects to satellites but does not send any messages to 911. If you dial 911 with no WiFi or cell signal, you are offered the opportunity to connect via satellite and are guided through the steps. Similar to the iPhone, I believe.
We will still keep our Motorolla Defy, as it offers general texting as well as SOS.
