Suspension Upgrade?

Question for the throng: What - if any - upgrade(s) have you done to your rig's suspension that you would wholeheartedly recommend for longterm Alaskan Camper mounting?

Dual shocks? HD over-springs? Hydraulics? Additional leaf spring(s)? Lifts (body/suspension)? New bushings? Etc...?

I ask as I've recently acquired a '90 Ford F250 extended cab 4x4 XLT Lariat ("351 Windsor") and plan to mount my '63 Alaskan NCO atop her and was wondering what others have done to their rigs to make their Alaskan experience even that much more enjoyable.

Looking forward to your responses...

The F250 sounds like a neat old truck. I’m not an Alaskan owner, but If the truck and camper were mine, I’d see what mounting the camper did to the stance and ride before doing anything. If needed, would probably go with a custom spring pack for long term mounting If the camper were frequently removed, air bags.

Nice rig! I was going to say once you take off the rack and boxes, I doubt the NCO will weigh much more than what you removed. If it was fine with that stuff, it will probably be fine with the camper. Looks to be about the same height.

I have airbags, but I plan on putting some heavier leaf springs in the back eventually. The bags are handy for leveling out the camper while camping on uneven grounds, so I wont ever get rid of them.

I had an 87 F250 that I put air bags on and F350 springs. It handled the 10'NCO extremely well. My son has the truck now and I'm hauling the camper around in a 2017 Ram 2500 with everything stock and have no issues.
