I saw one on I-5 the other day with the license plate FUELON.

I was not sure if it referred to what the vehicle runs on, or a curse on its creator.

I like a confusing license plate. Our 2004 Ram (with the camper on it) has an Oregon salmon plate with GODWIT on it. I have yet to encounter a random person who knows what a godwit is. I suppose people wonder about my religious affiliations (which are in fact nil).

When I was ordering the plates I checked every 6 letter bird common to the PNW (towhee, plover, avocet, curlew, puffin, shrike, etc) and other Oregon birders had claimed them all. So godwit it is.
