All--

My aim is to camp this summer with three adult-sized people in a F150 "supercab." Trouble is, nobody likes the silly little bench seat.

Has anyone attempted to remove the bench and replace it with a third bucket behind the driver, aimed sideways?

Or, am I crazy?

(Or both?)

My company issued me a F150 SC so I know what you mean about the "rear seat". How about getting one of those back rest things with the arms for watching TV on the floor. This would allow the lucky person to stretch out. Check Walmart for a use once then set at the curb model. Just throwing an idea out there. And no your're not crazy, You're camper crazy!

Cheers,

Mike

Dear Mike--

To me, the only thing wrong with your idea is that I didn't think of it first!

We'll definitely try that! Thanks!

Mark

P.S.: I asked my DW and she said the bench is too narrow for that. :(

Well I went and did it.

I got a passenger side Explorer seat from a junkyard and swapped it in. I used one original bolt hole, drilled another, and set in the seat. The two front bolts need to be done yet, but it's in and it works.

Paid $80 for the seat, which may have been too much, but it's comfortable.
