I noticed that most of our devices are going in the way of USB-C connections.
Cell phones
Charger for the Olympus OM-1 battery
My gals new Mac laptop
And a few other small items.
Have still a USB-A device so good to have a combo.
So after the last road trip it was time to search and install some in convenient locations for us.
I settled on Powerwerx Panel Mount combination USB-A QC3.0 and USB Type-C QC4.0. For $34.99 they were a little more than I wanted to pay, but they fit the need.
Package image below. Powerwerx Panel Mount Combination USB QC3.0 and USB Type-C QC4.0 Fast Device Charger
In the camper is a existing panel with dual 12 volt cigarette lighter plug in. Removed one of them and drilled the hole out to 1 1/8 inch. Put USB panel in and re- attached existing wires. Easy Peasy.
I put a second one on the side of the electrical cabinet in a location that while in bed something could be charged.
The third one was put in the face above the refg. This is close to the table so my gal can plug in anything while at the table. It is put in that location and not near the edge so as she gets in and out from the table her body won't push on the cords at the plug to prevent damage to the ends. I needed to run a positive and negative wire for about 9 to 11 feet in length.
Testing using my phone with it being around 70 percent charged, each plug was showing a draw around 1.75 amps to charge to the phone.
Pleased with the install, was easy to do. Looking forward to going out again and seeing how they work.
Cheers, Patrick
