Sad but true. I see increasing evidence of this every year. I have compassion for the future generations of man, beast and the environment. I have (and still do) make the best of it and enjoy the amazing outdoors whenever I can. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to dance with mother earth in her heyday!

Yellowstone NP has had closed waters most of the summer.
The water is too warm for the health of the fish during fishing.
Things are changing faster then we expected.
As CPT says we should all feel fortunate to have enjoyed the good old days.

Montana regularly invokes so-called "hoot owl" restrictions on fishing hours on certain streams, mostly lower elevation waters already marginal for trout, and has done so for decades. Suspends all fishing between late morning to late evening hours due to increased mortality even from catch and release. Breakpoint is 78 degrees F for mid-day temps.

The removal of of the dams on the Klamath River recently, have shown both Salmon and Steelhead swimming further upstream already. Good news for the Klamath River system !!

It is free flowing now, the dam remnants will be out soon. I wonder if it was in time. Certainly hope so for our future generations.

Nice story in the SF Chronicle about the project.
A lot of people involved in the take down.
There still are 2 dams up river that will stay but they have fish ladders.
The power company milked the use from them until they became obsolete
and the public pressure to remove them became more than they wanted to go through.

Both states Ca and Or did a lot of work on this project.
The only people complaining are some residents in the small towns
near the dams.They used the lakes for boating/fishing.
The native community is liking it.
Great to have the returning fish.
