Sagebrush Reconnoiterer
The Historian
Between 1999 and 2013 I had a popular website. Its focus was on eastern California and Nevada. 4WD trails, history, my personal trips.
In those days I took numerous exploration and camping trips with other friends, each of us traveling and camping in our separate rigs. I would write up trip reports and post them on my website. One of my favorite trips was taken in June, 2001. Author and historian Alan Patera (WESTERN PLACES series of books) and I often collaborated on his publications and we often traveled together. On this particular trip, two other acquaintances joined us as well. In this write up, I didn't use their full names to protect their privacy, but both have since died.
Below, I've created a .pdf file of my web page that I once had online. None of the links are functional, nor do the photos open to full size. Hyperlinked names of ghost towns used to take one's browser to the long running website Ghosttowns.com, which is still online and has many of my photos of this trip of the various ghost towns we visited along the way.
Note, a few minor glitches are seen due to conversion from HTML to .pdf.
Enjoy the trip!
