Is anyone using a deck/drawer system in their truck bed? I’m thinking about putting one in my 2019 Ranger for more (and more organized) storage. At this point, I’ve looked at the YouTube videos for Decked, but curious what else is out there. I’m also considering building a very simple plywood platform, but this isn’t my first choice.

Thoughts?

Got the tape measure out, and it looks like this is going to be a DIY if done at all. A 12” deck is too tall to let me have the dog crates under the canopy… 🤬

Might I suggest English Cockers? Oyster's box fits perfectly under my shell on top of Decked drawers! It really is a great setup. How much room do you need?

Number one pro-tip on Decked drawers: they are not *that* vehicle specific if you're at all handy. Why does that matter? Well, if you can find a cheap set on FB/CL for any similarly sized truck, you can easily tweak them to work for you. Decked didn't/doesn't make drawers for a first-gen Tundra, so I bought a lightly used set from a random truck. The vehicle- specific part is just a plastic lip that matches the contours of a given truck bed, so I simply cut off that plastic lip square at the narrowest dimension of my truck and popped them right in. They've worked perfectly for my use, and I'll probably move them on to my next truck since they're basically "universal fit" at this point. I think I'm in them for $200 or so.

Even if you're not able to make it work, Sage, hopefully someone else can take advantage of this workaround and save some coin for traveling!

Cockers? Real dogs have beards! 😇

Humor aside, I will probably build a deck, as I gave a couple of sheets of plywood in the shop, but your point is great! I suspect others will put it to good use.

Back to humor… be careful with Oyster if you get town into Plaquemines Parish. Folks down there are fond of oysters…

I don't think you can beat the the drawer/ topper combo if you're into hunting/fishing/outdoor activities-- it's an ideal setup. I was also going down the wooden platform rabbit hole before I decided to get creative with an angle grinder. Good luck with the project, and post photos.

Re: Oyster: Way out in da Parish he's known as Errster, I think.

If you’re interested in detailed pictures of my frame build and material used shoot me a PM, at the very least it might give you some ideas.

Glenn, thank you! If I do go forward with the project, I’ll give you a shout. Because I have large dog crates for my wirehares, I’m won’t be able to have much space under the deck. Maybe enough for a gun case or two on one side, and a tray with shotshells and skinny gear on the other.

Don't know what dimensions you are needing, but Brute makes these truck drawers that are slightly shorter (9 1/2"H). And made in USA (y)
