I own a Hallmark truck camper. Having issues with the rear tiedown point on the Hallmark camper. It effectively failed on one side.

The current configuration is that one end of the rear Torklift tiedown attaches to a truck frame mount made by Torklift and the other end of the Torklift tiedown attaches directly to the camper.

As mentioned, the camper anchor point for the tiedown has failed. I’m not going to get into how the camper anchor point is configured as that is irrelevant to what my questions are below.

The current configuration of the Torklift tie down is in a vertical configuration right now. I want to go to a configuration where the Torklift tiedown goes from the Torklift truck frame mount to the rear Happijac.

Please understand that the Hallmark camper is configured such that the rear Happijac is about 12 inches from the end of the truck bed. This camper is longer than the truck bed.

This would put the Torklift tie down at about a 45° angle and would require a foot or two of chain extension as the Torklift tiedown is not long enough. A custom plate would have to be welded to the Happijac to except the Torklift tiedown.

Does anybody have any experience with this? What are people thoughts in doing this? Please note that I do see this configuration set up on other campers, but just wondering with peoples thoughts are.
