I don't usually watch online videos. Old habits, since I didn't have high speed internet until about four years ago. That and the horrible quality due to the masses with smart phones being paid to crank out crap about anything and everything.
But I enjoyed this one, a good, quality video. At first I thought it was an older video from way back when it actually snowed in the Sierra Nevada, until I saw some date stamps from this past January. Which surprised me, as in the southern Sierra, snowpacks have been bleak.
The ranger said that it was his 13th year and he was looking forward to spending at least 20 winters in Tuolumne. I assume this will be his last ...
The woman ranger reminded Julie and me of a friend who had that same job (she & her husband) decades ago. It brought back memories. And yes, it was great to see them on tele skis!
Thanks Monte that was truly a great video.Brought back memories from back in the late 80s early 90s of all the great skiing we did in the Ebbets Pass area.Nothing as serious as the video
just great times out on the snow. One of the best skis we had were the times we could ski through the Sequoias at Calavaras Big Trees SP.Out among the trees while it's snowing cutting the first track doesn't get much better IMO.
I bet their job has gotten the axe under the DOGE purge. What a S&&T show.
