Where is my CO2/gas detector (2001 Eagle)

I'm trying to find out where (or if) my Eagle FWC has a detector of any kind and where it'd be located. I don't see anything obvious.

You don't have one. You also don't have a shore power to DC converter/charger.

If I don't have one, will the battery (9v) ones work just as well or should I get a hard-wired one like this:

and wire it in? Where's the best location to put one?

A combo CO/LP detector I assume is the better option?

I don't think it matters much if it's battery or hard wired. For ease of installation, battery. If it were a smoke detector, I would say battery. As far as location, mine is factory installed and located near the floor on the same cabinet that houses the stove, furnace, and water heater.

I'd go hard wired just because I hate replacing batteries, especially when they go out in the middle of the night. I just replaced mine (every five years or so is recommended) with the camping world version (meaning pricier

It probably says this in the instructions, but if you haven't bought one yet, you'll probably want to mount it as low as possible. Propane is heavier than air so it settles on the floor. Try to avoid putting it right next to a vent or fan.

I think they say the BEST is two separate units with the propane low and CO mid/to high. However we're talking tiny campers verse large RV's/5th wheels so it probably doesn't really matter.

I did find on some site that stated put the sensor 18" or lower per your suggestion and that the gas settles low to the ground. I guess if you are in a fire, you have to stay high and low!
