I've owned two FWC, one with the outside window covers and the one I have now without. The new owner of FWC has been making improvements in the campers. I was in a mild rain with no leaks. I also drove at 60 MPH in the rain with no water seeping in through the lowered top.
FWC is using a new material for the side canvas and so far I have only one small complaint. It lets in some light. So it feels more bright and airy. I personally prefer the the old style canvas. What I don't miss is needing a step ladder to open and close the outside flaps. But this is nit picking and would not be a deal breaker for me.
When I was shopping for campers I checked out Northstar Campers. I liked the over all camper but they are using a white material that made the interior way too bright, IMO. It would be hard to take a power nap before happy hour.
