Ah yes. Went through four pairs of those one winter. Finally talked Asolo into having Dave Page Cobbler resole them with sewn on and no plate soles. Those lasted for years till my feet changed shape and no longer fit.I’m old enough to remember the Asolo XC boots that came with a 3 pin toe and sole that would break just behind the pin sockets.
Fondly referred to as Kenko Crackers by our ski crowd. Kenko was the importer as I recall.
Ah, more geezerly memories. I believe I had a pair (after the Snowfields) for the lengthy time of one outing. The tongues had a stiff curl that would not flatten out, and consequently wore a painful groove into the front of the ankle and lower leg.Ah, memories of the not so good old days. How 'bout the Asolo Snowpine 3 pin boots (our obvious namesake) from back in the days of riding the cow, that all our companions called the "blisterpines."
Tips on how to fall asleep in a living room chair:

Thanks, now I understand why my favorite boot soles keep separating! My wife had exactly this happen. She liked her new boots several years ago so she bought a second pair and put it in the closet for when the first ones wore out. Pulled them out last spring and they fell apart on the first hike. Maddening!
