Finlen Hotel - Butte, Montana

I stayed for two nights at the Finlen Hotel in Butte, Montana recently while taking photos for Western Mining History. The hotel has two parts – the nine story historic hotel tower built in 1924, and the newer motor inn. I prefer historic hotels so I requested a room in the original hotel. The rooms were not what I would call deluxe or luxurious, but they were clean and comfortable and the price was definitely right at just 48 dollars a night. The Finlen is in the heart of historic Uptown Butte. If you are interested in mining history or the history of the West in general, Uptown Butte is a must visit destination and is one of the most fascinating cities in America. I’ll write more about Butte in future articles.
Wireless internet is available in the lobby only.
