Had to drive to Reno yesterday,easy going down but had to fight the wind all the way coming back .Then in the late afternoon, the first drops fell and I even had to start a fire . I  fell a sleep last night to the sound of wind and rain hitting my deck and roof--wonderful !!!  ---and my deck is wet this morning.

Woke up once last night and heard the sound of water in a gutter downspout.  It's wet outside and raining very lightly.

 

But the biggest seasonal news is that I turned on the furnace when I got up this morning (for the first time since last spring)...59°F is too cold indoors. Bend has been unseasonably cold the past couple of days, with highs in the 50s and lows down to 30°F in the cold spots around town.  (that's after being unseasonably hot -- in the 90s -- on Saturday).

But the biggest seasonal news is that I turned on the furnace when I got up this morning (for the first time since last spring)...

 

When we got home last evening, it was 63° in the house and we did warm it up with the heat stove on the hearth. Turned it off and slept with the window open. I heard rain. I smelled rain. There were drops on the windshield driving. This morning, all looks dry outside and 80's are predicted for this weekend.

At least the fire areas,Valley fire got some needed rain.
