Bill, if you don’t have the NIK plugins for PS, I recommend them. SilverEfex is a powerful tool for monochrome. Another in that suite does fantastic noise reduction.
Edit: I love your new composition! BTW, I can’t see anything from your kuula link. User not found error.
As it turns out I did use the Nik SilverEfex Pro 2 filter (the one Google gave away) on that image and it did a much nicer job than those built into PS. When I get some time this winter, I may go back and edit in monochrome from the original raw image - this morning I started from the already processed image (since this was a quick experiment.)
Yeah, some extraneous, invisible characters snuck into that Kuula link. I replaced it in the post. Thanks for catching that. Here it is again, if you get another error simply backspace the end until you get to the last 'l' in BosqueBill: https://kuula.co/profile/BosqueBill

I have that same version of NIK. At this point, most of my post processing is done with NIK. I lens correct in LR, open PS, crop, NIK noise reduction, color correct or convert to BW, then add a watermark and save. Sometimes a PS burn dodge layer if needed. As it turns out I did use the Nik SilverEfex Pro 2 filter (the one Google gave away) on that image and it did a much nicer job than those built into PS. In a flip from years ago, I do most of my processing in Adobe Camera Raw. The adjustment brush (for dodge/burn, exposure, etc.) is powerful; I often use the ND filter tool (not just for neutral, either), and the blemish removal tool works very well for sun spots. I then go into PS as its shadows/highlights & contrast layers give it just that extra kick. I'll also use PS if I need to clone out something ugly (like my orange 5 gal bucket.)

Bill thanks for the trip.
The desert erosion is beautiful. Nature sure puts on a show with the wind/water erosion.
The colors sure stand out.
The Goose Necks SP what a fantastic view.
