we hope to buy a new 9.5' Hallmark Everest plus a 2020 Ford F350

I am told that due to the aluminum frame of the current SuperDuty Fords... we have to get the TorkLift FastGuns.

but the little (optional) locks on the FastGuns seem only to help discourage anyone from stealing the (valuable) FastGuns.... what about some extra security to make sure to provide extra security for the far more valuable Hallmark?

Yes we'd likely leave the camper jacks at home... no need to haul them around.... so there is that...

does anyone use additional tie downs  - - perhaps the ones hidden by the pickup side walls - so inaccessible from outside the Hallmark?

or - ?

thanks.

If the tie downs are locked then they wouldn't be able to get the camper off the truck. Regardless, it's far more likely they'd just steal the truck with camper on it. I like to leave the jacks on because I use them to stabilize it. Wind can really shake the camper, as do our dogs walking around at night.

We use Fast Guns (with locks on all four) on our hard side camper. I worry less about losing my camper than I do about some jerk stealing the tie downs. Regardless of what you do, locks keep honest people honest.

We have the fast guns and love them but we don’t have locks on ours.
I’ve actually never thought of someone stealing them...maybe I should but I’ve never even heard of anyone loosing them...As said the locks only keep the honest people honest...

I guess you could buy some high security locks...something like this..

Not sure this is much of a problem. Stealing travel trailers is common. Stealing other types of
RVs seems less so.

We have a Revelco anti-theft system in our truck. They are out of Houston, but have installers coast to coast. There is a faub that must be plugged in to start the truck. They have never had a vehicle stolen. I paid $400+/- 3 years ago. The Ford F250/350 are the top theft vehicles in Texas and high across the country. $400 is piece of mind when you consider the Hallmark and truck are worth $80+/-.
