O'Hara campground is one of a couple marked for our treak back to Montana. jd

Ski, you never disappoint. Looking forward to more. One week and we head to Idaho and Montana. Flyrods are at the ready. Fishing Henry's Fork early in the trip. Thanks as always for amazing TR's. jd

I enjoyed the first two posts, and am looking forward to the rest of the trip!  Both posts visited some of my favorite locations, including one we're headed to soon (Hart Mountain) and one we're just waiting for the color change (Steens).

Concerning the mosquitoes, at the resort above the Blitzen the mookies were nil. We had no problem during the day at Page Spring or the hike up the Blitzen. One evening we dropped from the cabin down o the bridge over the Blitzen to check with a helitac crew on progress the helicopter was making with water drops on a lightning start fire up country. At the bridge the mosquito flock was the worse we've ever encountered.

 

Thanks for the great report...as usual. Absolutely one of my all time favorite areas, I’ve only seen Wildhorse from above on the road. Maybe next time...

How were the skeeters? Last time there, in mid-June, the campsites below were almost unbearable. Jill and I had planned to camp in the back of the truck but I ended up renting one of the “cabins”...marriage saved!

An early morning start on a weekday and things worked out for us!

 

Looks like maybe you made a stop at Weir Creek Hot Springs?!  That was always a favorite after a day kayaking on the Lochsa.  Thanks for the continued report, looking forward to the next installment.

 

 

Seems as though you stopped at a pair of the better-known hot springs along the way, and you did so without encountering the crowds so often associated with either of the two.  Kudos!

Boy guys, you guys are sure proving "retirement is hell".  I mean how can you stand all that fun and adventure-don't you miss working just a tad? Just kidding !  Can't wait for your next adventure(s)  and thanks for taking us along!

Wow really enjoyed the trip. We are hopefully going to follow in step when the significant other retires... maybe soon... I love the fishing shots being a trout nut. Hot springs would help these old bones too.
