Is there anything I can do about the flimsy bent aluminum front lift mechanism? Its a bent aluminum rod material that keeps popping out of the holder and and will not hold it even. Can I adopt the newer design that FWC is using? other ideas?

If you mean that it's "popping out" of the holder,is that where it makes a 90* bend at the panel?

My ATC Bobcat front panel has the 3/8" metal bent rod. There is a hole drilled through the rod after

it goes through the attaching point and a washer and "small screw" is inserted into it to keep the rod from becoming

unattached.

If that is how yours is attached then make sure you have the screw in or add the screw yourself.

Hope this has helped.

Mine just slides through the hole with a slight expansion after the bend to keep it from coming out of the hole, which does not work on one side, I noticed on the newer Grandby they use what looks like a 2X4 or similar size piece of wood with a hing at the end.

On the #8 post of that thread you will notice there is about an 1" or so of the rod sticking out of the inner part of the frame .

If you drill a hole on that short bend and place a washer/screw there it will keep the rod in place.

I think the newer FWC's have a wooden bar.

On ours I used the old piece of tubing slipped on the rod trick. Works as a stopper. Could also add glue in the tube if the slip fit is not tight enough.
