looking good... lard how can one go wrong...my question is: How often can one use lard?... can that be used over and over? strained then fridge? For those that do this regular....

wow! that looks great. My Grandma and Mom cooked with lard all the time (donuts fried in lard was a favorite). They lived to 92 and 96 respectively so it must be good for ya!

Gotta remember the folks back when worked a heck of a lot harder than we do physically.... The taste of lard can't be beat in crust on pies etc.... gotta either go easy on it or work as hard as they did. My father-n-law was a KY pig farmer...that guy is 86 and as tough as leather... I still can't do half what he could do....
