This is our first season with the smaller version of Dometic's 3 way refrigerator. In general I’m pleased with the performance. We ran the refrigerator on propane both on the road at freeway speeds and at campsites. The flame screen did a good job of protecting the pilot light so we never experienced a loss of the pilot light. Yes we did turn off the unit when fueling. The good news, we found on propane it held the box temperature in the high 30’s with an ambient temperature in the 80’s. Not sure about temperatures in the 90’s but we rarely camp in that kind of weather. The downside for this 3 way is that there is no thermostat when running on propane. We however did not find this to be too onerous, simply setting the propane control knob to High in the daytime and to Low in the PM.

So far the only problem we’ve run into is the weather strip that protects the vent that houses the lower burner compartment has peeled away. Does anyone know where I can source a new weather strip? Tried 4 Wheel but they’re too busy building campers to respond.

I use my camper a lot. When I am catfishing I have to keep bait in the freezer so I have good bait to use the next day. Even when the temps get to 100 and over my freezer stays frozen. Now my main compartment can get warmer. If it is 90 or more I don't keep eggs, milk, or meat in the refrigerator unless I tuck them close to the metal fins.

Another thing I do is in the day when I am fishing the fridge stays closed. I also turn on the fan for the fridge in the day. At noght I normally have my Generator so I can power back up for the next day. My last trip I smuggled some ice cream bars in the freezer and when we were done I gave my wife a ice cream bar for putting up with my long days in the boats.

I have good luck with mine and enjoys it. I know it has limitations and work with them.
