I have a 2006 Tundra and need to install the eyebolts into the bed this weekend. The ATC site said it needs reinforcement plates added, is this ture?

Snapper,
Yep, you gotta do it. Use some heavy steel square washers on both sides of the bed. I also cut a piece of rubber on each side for them to seat into.

I mounted mine without the plates, did use large 3" finder washers, 2005 Tundra. Purchased a used Hawk so I did not know they were required. I will keep an eye on them to see if it shows a problem. Not a big problem to add if needed. 20/20 hindsight it would have been good to have the extra support.
