Just an FYI. Julie and I just returned from the 395 highway corridor in Owens Valley. After our spectacularly wet winter, the wildflowers are pretty incredible. The end of last week the best spots were the upper reaches of the alluvial fans - Lupine, Purple Sage, etc.. Spots in the Volcanic Tablelands were fields of yellow. Belly flowers are abundant. Lower elevations and further south are Brittlebrush and Desert Mallow. And many others. There are still Desert Primrose blooming at Fossil Falls.

If you have the time, go now. Wander about and go look for flowers. It is starting to warm up. Around Bishop highs were in the mid eighties. Cool overnight lows allowed for sleeping with all the windows open. Rivers and streams are running high and fast.

Thanks for the East Side wild flower report.  It's been quite a winter/spring.

We've been seeing about moving our old camper to the new flatbed/RAM.

If I get the slow leaking tire fixed and finish the bolt-on Hawk install we might go looking for morels for a one-nighter.

Many thanks Monte. It's nice to see those desert blooms.

Yesterday we had out first chance to visit Point Lobos SP

and saw a lot of flowers that we have never seen before.

Due to the great rain this winter the SP has very profuse

blooms. And some Harbor seals still around with younguns.

Here are some flower shots from Point Lobos SP.
