Less than a year to Total Solar Eclipse. I witnessed the last total eclipse in the U.S. next to Granite Falls off the Hoback River in Wyoming. An epic unforgettable clear day. I’d like to try it again but don’t know much about Texas and Arkansas which appear the most likely areas in CONUS to have clear weather.

Areas I’m considering for boondocking in Texas are near Radar Base ( a town) and Garner State Park. Boondocking on BLM or Forest Land doesn’t appear to be easy to find along the path of the eclipse.

Arkansas areas I’m considering are Quachita National Forest or Ozark St Francis National Forest.

My experience from the last eclipse was traffic was relatively calm prior; afterwards everyone hit the road at the same time. I plan on hunkering down for a day or two.

What say the forum on locations for the the eclipse?

WTW join up anyone?

Don't forget the Annular Eclipse on October 14 this year.   I watched the last eclipse in OR. Next year I will be in Texas where my daughter lives. She is on the edge of totality and we will drive 30 or so miles to be in the middle. The total eclipse is a must see/feel.
