I am considering a 2006 Hallmark UTE XS.  The owner does not know if it is a fiberglass roof or not.  He sent me a pic but I am unable to tell if its fiberglass or rubber.

Is there another way to determine?  The camper is 800 miles away so not to easy to go and loom at.

Thanks!

Why don't you call them and ask. If you had the unit serial number, from the stainless steel tag on the rear of the unit they could answer any number of questions about the unit.

Thanks Stray Dog.  I called Hallmark.  They needed a pic of roof to make determination.  Serial # look up for this vintage is not available.

It was determined to be a rubber roof.

Now....I need to evaluate if asking price is appropriate considering the rubber roof.

If it's been cared for reasonably a rubber roof should not be a concern.  I had a 2005 Milner for 10 years and my rubber roof was perfectly functional when I sold it.  I used 303 on it regularly and it seemed to preserve the roof nicely.

Hallmark does replace rubber roofs and includes new soft walls also I believe but it is expensive.  Hallmark told me once that most of the replacement jobs are related to insurance claims because of the expense.

Either way, should you purchase the unit I hope you have nothing but positive experiences with it.  Hallmark makes a great camper.
