I recently sold my FWC fleet to a guy in SC and I live in UT. We went through logistics:and our three options are:

  • he flies out, rent a tacoma and ties it down or gets a flat bed trailer and ties it down there
  • I drive it out to him (2000 miles) with an hourly rate/ gas/ food /hotels for the ride back
  • He hires a transport company and they pick it up/ drop it off

the third option seems most logical but was wondering who people have used, experience, etc

thanks!

Use this (site: wanderthewest.com "shipper") as a search term in Google.  There are several threads on it.

I used USHIP to have a trailer moved from Missouri to California.

If you go this route be sure the shipper you choose has done previous shipments and that they are insured.

+1 for USHIP

I've had some oversized boats successfully delivered from far away places. Check for insurance, read reviews and have a phone conversation with the driver. So far so good.

Most shippers (if not all) will require the camper be mounted securely on a trailer and that you provide means to load /unload.

...cant drive a camper onto a trailer.

Yeah this is really the only way we can do it.  This one shipper has an F250 flatbed and there is no way its getting underneath that camper even with my 6 inch extensions on it.  the other guys want to use a forklift or crane at both ends. Looks like one of us is doing a long drive across the country.

Has he considered driving out himself in his truck, installing the camper, and then driving home?
