Not enough for Julie to shovel yet. She's unhappy.
She's happy now. 4" total from the quick storm. Nineteen degrees this morning. All snowblowing and shoveling completed. It is winter. :)

I got a call yesterday from my neighbor at home in Bend telling me that the ground is white.
Looks like a few inches more are coming up for Bend this week.

Where I'll be in southern Louisiana tomorrow a few inches of rain and some wind are in the forecast.

Beginning tomorrow I have a site in the "Bottomland" area of the Bogue Chitto State Park campground, next to the Bogue Chitto River. I figured that would be more interesting and scenic than the "Upland" section CG.

With flood alerts now I'm not sure just how "interesting" it will be.
I think my fiberglass trailer will float...

Perhaps we will have winter…

So... When I checked in to Bogue Chitto SP, about an hour ago, they said, "We got a forecast that the river might rise by Wednesday. If it's lookin that way we'll let you know by Tuesday night and get you moved to the Upland section...Don't want you to float away "
I thought that was downright considerate.

On the plus side, the campsite is very nicely suited for wet conditions: I'm parked on pavement (pull-through), and there's a huge wooden deck to hang out on. No need to get muddy.

And...the camp host just came around to make sure I knew about the tornado warning: midnight to 3am. He wanted me to know about taking shelter in the bathrooms if need be.
We'll see...

Downright considerate for sure! Nice to have such an attentive camp host. Do you wake easily to a knock on your door or loud sirens? :)

It does look like a very nice campsite.

Julie just added, "Or a really big gust of wind?"

So far, the NWS has only put out a wind advisory -- no mention of tornadoes. But AccuWeather mentions tornadoes... Dunno.

By the way, the little creek visible down below, next to the deck, is not the river...but I reckon the creek course would be the route that flooding from the river would take.

You might also buy a bunch of the large ball type boat fenders to hang around the camper in case of flooding. Might help to keep you afloat.

Paul

This lake is about 100 yards from my campsite.

I suppose in flood conditions my campsite is in gator habitat.
I'll try to not feed them.

Big Red got his opportunity to work today, about 3 hours worth doing driveways for two neighbors, and the Fort. After looking at the forecast between now and Saturday, I’m hoping I have enough diesel. The current prediction is for around 24”. Eeek!

Do you know what would happen to me if Julie heard me say that?
