Gents, Ive got a number of items I want to run off 12v power - enough different heavy gage wires that I cant/don't want to attach directly to the battery.  Im thinking of a bus bar for both positive and negative.  Any thoughts on where to attach the bus bars?  It is pretty tight in my engine bay.

Steve, From my limited experience with a 2022, I tied all electrical needs, either through the upfitter switches or through the fuse panel at the passenger footwell. Your owners manual will indicate fuses and amps not used. I used a fuse tap and so far works great

Good to know.  Some of the power is at 60amp (winch connection s front and back) as well as a 60amp DC to DC charger.  So, Ive got more than I want to run through either of your solutions.  Thanks for the response though.  steve

I have a 2022 F350 Diesel and need to hook up a DC to DC. I know there is talk of "smart" charging systems on vehicles but don't have a good understanding of them.

Any thoughts?

BFDave,  a truck that new will have a smart alternator.  Practically speaking, that means that it can put out less power than a "dumb" alternator, but not necessarily.  It does make it even more critical to upsize the wires coming from the truck and running to the camper batteries.

Yep, unless you have space constraints near the battery posts, directly attaching is good for power transfer, just make sure you add fuses/breakers as needed.  Would something like this work for you?
