My wife broke her arm and we need to circle back to Willits, CA in 10 days or so so her splint can be turned into a cast.
What do to in the area, given the rain we've had? We can do about 300-450 miles in a day.

Vic, I’m sorry to hear that your wife broke her arm. Don’t know that area well enough to make recommendations.
I am haunted by waters

Sorry to hear about your wife's arm. Willits is quite close as the crow flys to the Mendocino coast. Lots of hiking and rivers to explore. This time of year and the current weather may be challenging. You are also not too far ( 2 hours ish) from the Lost Coast and the Kings Range. Breathtaking area, again weather permitting, but things do look like they are letting up a bit.
Stay dry and be safe.

Vic there are some nice coastal areas.Pt.Reys national seashore.
Camping at Samuel P Taylor SP. Great campground. We have stayed there many times over the years.
If you check the Sonoma,Marin, Mendocino County and state parks.
There are several in the Willits area along the coast.Hwy 1 from Fort Bragg south has a lot of camping areas.
Monte has stayed at some over the years.Several in the Mendocino area.

Heck if the weather was better I'd take you guys out on the boat for some crab'n!!!!!! If you are taking the coast and pass through Davenport, I'm in the tiny white fishing shack by the old church. You'll see my Hawk in the driveway not home from work till 7ish tho.
The Aquarium in Monterey is always a fun place to get out of the rain.
