Super Springs

Whitely, We do not install Super Springs or any other type of suspension becouse we are not licensed to do that type of work. I think you can find qualified automotive shops all over the place that are experts in that field. I know that our web site does not have enough information on it and we are someday going to correct that. One of the problems is that thier are so many different camper configurations that the weights and measures are not the same. We build each camper for the truck it is bought for so the measures are all over the board. please call or email us and we will be happy to figure out weights anf measurements for what type of truck you have. The heavyest camper we ever build weight in at 1140 wet. It had mechanical jacks, refer, furnace, aux battery, and basicaly every option we could put on it. This was an 8 foot camper. By wet it was full uf propane and the water tank was full. Have a nice day Marty atc@allterraincampers.com

Whitely: Supersprings are very easy to install. If you or a friend have somewhat a mechanical talent you can do it yourself. Supersprings has a video on their web sits that will give you an idea on how to do it. Also once you get them, lay out the parts. If you have any questions, give them a call directly and they will help you. I put mine on in about an 1-1/2 hours.

I installed my Supersprings with a broken wrist. It took me a whopping 1 hour.

One thing about Supersprings, they require you to know exactly how much weight you plan to put on he back of the truck. I have a set of the SSA-8 (3000 lb capacity) that I put originally on my old Ford Ranger to haul my 1500 lb Sunline camper. After the Ranger died, I cross referenced the Supersprings for my GMC Sierra, turns out they are the medium duty for the GMC, but heavy duty for the Ranger, and same kit for both trucks. Downfall is that without a load in the back, the rear of my GMC sits 3" higher than it did from the factory ride height, and gives a fairly rough and hard ride in the back. Once I get a load of over 800 lbs in the bed, the back starts to smooth out on the rides, but it does tend to have a hard ride feel unless I have the camper on the back of the truck.

Other than that, I have no complaint with the Supersprings, just once every 6 months check the rollers to see how they are, make sure they are not getting a flat spot.

One other thing, when installing them, I found using 2 12" heavy C Clamps to compress the springs to get the foreward roller in position works much better as you can apply a little more pressure to get the spring to flex when installing. Takes about 1 hour to install with a couple 3/4" gear wrenches.

I do have to put the springs on the lower setting when I take the camper off. It is still a little higher, but ok.
